Do you love the seamless and fresh technology of the iPhone range?
So do we! But, along with all the things we do love about our phones, there are also some things we don’t. Battery life, for example.
Do you feel as though you’re constantly recharging your iPhone? Then this article is for you. During this brief discussion, we’ll talk about some of the ways you can spend less time recharging your phone, while still making the most out of having it at your disposal as you need it.
Firstly, know that there are a few bugs with the iPhone 5S that may be influencing your battery life. An Apple spokesperson recently informed the public in a statement that:
“We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life.” The company will replace your phone if it is affected.
Once you’re certain these bugs did not affect your phone and a low battery is simply something you have to manoeuvre your way around, it’s useful to know the most effective ways to save power where you can.
In the meantime, here are our top 3 battery saving tips.
Do you like a bold, bright screen?
That’s nice. But it could really be eating through your battery power. Bright screens require more energy, and hence more battery power. By compromising with a less bright screen, you can really reduce the battery consumption.
Find a lower level of brightness in the Wallpapers and Brightness section, under Settings. Enjoy the extra battery time!
You don’t have to be in the sky to make the most out of this one. It’s the next best thing to turning your phone off when you want to use less battery power. It also has lots of other great uses, like avoiding the interruption of an unexpected call when you’re busy. Basically, it allows your phone to function without any connectivity, which really pulls back on battery usage. Drag your finger upwards from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone. You’ll see a tiny airplane icon. Remember to switch it back on when you need connectivity again!
By turning off you location services, your GPS system stops asking the system to constantly update your location as it changes. This is a significant drain on your battery, and very often something you don’t even need to refer to every day.
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, but this is as simple as heading to Privacy, then to Settings and switching off the apps that request your location. It’s also great for managing your privacy online too!
